AREA STRUCTURE PLANS (ASP)
Smoky Lake County & County of St. Paul
GARNER LAKE AREA STRUCTURE PLAN
The
goal of the ASP is to establish a long term vision for the community as
well as set in place policies and guidelines to guide land use and
development in the area.
One of
the most important steps in the planning process is to receive input
from stakeholders and community members about the issues, opportunities
and constraints affecting the Garner Lake Area, in order to ensure that
the policies enshrined in the completed ASP are both tenable and
achievable.
This
feedback, once compiled, will enable the completed ASP to more
accurately reflect the goals and aspirations of community members and
stakeholders groups. As such, the Council, staff and Municipal Planning
Services (Alberta) Ltd. would like to invite you to attend the project
information session and/or Open Space Management and ASP Workshop to
learn about the Areas Structure Planning process and share with us your
vision for the future of the Garner Lake community.
On
Saturday, July 25, 2009, a workshop was held, in an effort to provide
attendees information about the lake ASP process and also give the
public the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a comprehensive
vision for the Garner Lake community.
With
over 125 people attending the one hour information session and close to
50 people participating in the workshops, the day was considered to be a
huge success.
