Taxes & Assessment Taxation and assessment information... 2011 ASSESSMENT ROLL Notice is hereby given that the combined tax and assessment notices have been mailed as of May 27, 2011 to all property owners in Smoky Lake County. In accordance with Section 311 of the Municipal Government Act, all persons are deemed to have received their combined tax and assessment notices as a result of this Notice. The Assessment Roll is open for inspection at the County Office, 4612 McDougall Drive, Smoky Lake, Alberta during the business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Any person who desires to object to the entry of his name of that of any other person upon the said Roll or the assessed value placed upon any property must by July 29, 2011 lodge their complaint(s) in writing to the Chief Administrative Officer of Smoky Lake County. 2011 ASSESSMENT OPEN HOUSE Should you have any questions about your assessment, please attend the ASSESSMENT OPEN HOUSE, which will be held at the County Office, where you can discuss your Tax Notice with the County Assessor: OR You may also call the office during the day and hours stated below at (780) 656-3730 or 1-888-656-3730 (Alberta only).

Attention County Taxpayers Smoky Lake County has contracted Accurate Assessment Group to conduct all assessment services for the 2011 general re-assessment. They will be concentrating on ranges 14 and part of 13 and 15. As well, they will be inspecting throughout the County for various reasons such as new development permits, previously incomplete structures, etc. Accurate Assessment Group will be inspecting from March 2011 through January 2012. Smoky Lake County requests your co-operation in assisting the assessors with any information necessary to complete the assessment. Should you have any questions or concerns, you may contact the County Office.
2011 MILL RATES
Property Taxation Monthly Payment Plan Terms The current years taxes, local improvement levy plus any tax arrears must be paid in full for eligibility in the Plan. The payment calculation will be based on the previous year's tax levy divided by twelve (12) months. Any increase / decrease in the issuing of the current year's Assessment and Tax Notice will be adjusted in the month of June.
Declaration of School Support
The purpose of collecting this Declaration is to apportion the
percentage of the school tax collected on the property to the
appropriate school district, according to the declaration of faith.
