- Ukrainian-Canadian Heritage Day: September 7, 2024
September 7th is known as Ukrainian-Canadian Heritage Day in Alberta. 2024 marks the 133rd year since the first recorded arrival of Ukrainians in Canada.
The date was chosen to honour the first officially recorded Ukrainian immigrants, Ivan Pylypiw and Vasyl Eleniak, who arrived in Canada on Sept. 7, 1891.
