Smoky Lake County Hires New Chief Administrative Officer
Smoky Lake County Council is pleased to announce that Ms. Chyenne Shaw has been hired as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), with the appointment to take place on February 18, 2026.
This appointment marks a significant milestone for Smoky Lake County, as Chyenne becomes the first female CAO in the County’s history.
Many residents and staff are already familiar with Chyenne through her work as the County’s Executive Services Coordinator and Director of Emergency Management (DEM). During this time, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a strong work ethic, and a deep understanding of municipal legislation and governance.
Chyenne brings extensive experience in emergency management and municipal administration. She is recognized for her professional drive, attention to detail, and commitment to ensuring projects are completed thoroughly and accurately. Her focus on accountability and clear communication will be key assets as the County continues to grow and evolve.
Council looks forward to the leadership, energy, and dedication Ms. Shaw brings to this role and is confident she will serve the community with integrity and professionalism.
Council would also like to sincerely thank Brenda Adamson for her service as Interim CAO and for her steady leadership during the transition period.
