This position offers a wage based on the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 955, Collective Agreement with Smoky Lake County.

Position Objectives:

Smoky Lake County is seeking an experienced individual to join our Public Works Department as a Temporary Full-time Equipment Operator IV, reporting directly to the Public Works Manager as a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 955.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating tractor-trailer with air, snowplow/sand truck with air
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.

Desirable Training and Experience:

  • Valid Alberta Driver’s License (minimum Class 3, Class 1 preferred) with a clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Basic mechanical skills and working knowledge of heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to take mandatory training, as required by the County.
  • Ability to operate other pieces of equipment an asset.
  • Clean Criminal Record Check.
