Casual Main Office Custodian

Compensation:

The wages and benefits for the position are based on the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4575 Collective Agreement.

Position Objectives:

Smoky Lake County is seeking a self-motivated individual to apply for the casual position of Main Office Custodian. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will provide relief coverage for day-to-day cleaning and minor maintenance activities at the County’s Main Office. The casual main office Custodian is a member of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4575.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing highly used surfaces.
• Gathering and emptying trash cans.
• Scrubs and sanitizes lunchroom and restroom facilities.
• Ensures the building is secure after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and arming the alarm system.

Minimum Requirements:

• Understand oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours, as well as lift heavy objects.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.
