Alberta Day Photo Scavenger Hunt

Explore the unique history in our own back yard.

Get out and explore the history of Smoky Lake County during our Alberta Day Photo Scavenger Hunt! Visit historic sites throughout the County, capture a photo at each location, and enter for your chance to win a prize!

	August 28 – September 1, 2026

How to Participate
	1. Pick up your Location Passport Stop by the Smoky Lake County Main Office to pick up your Photo Scavenger Hunt Location Passport.

	2. Visit the historic sites Use your passport to explore the historic sites on the scavenger hunt list. Visit as many sites as you can and take a photo at each location (or get it signed at Métis Crossing and/or Serben Farms). Location information can be found here.


	3. Submit your photos There are two ways to enter your photos: Facebook: Post your photos under the official Photo Scavenger Hunt Facebook post. Email: Send your photos to county@smokylakecounty.ab.ca with “Scavenger Hunt” in the subject line. Be sure to include your name and contact information in the email.



	4. Earn entries! Every historic site you visit counts as one entry into the prize draw. The more sites you visit, the more entries you receive!


Prizes to be Won First Place: One-night stay at Métis Crossing Second Place: Dinner for two at a restaurant in Smoky Lake County (restaurant to be determined, valued at $250) Third Place: $150 Visa Gift Card Fourth Place: $50 Gift Card to Serben Farms

August 28: Scavenger Hunt begins September 1: Scavenger Hunt ends September 3: All photo entries must be received September 4: Prize draw will be held live on Facebook
