Join the Agricultural Service Board as a Producer-at-Large Member
Smoky Lake County is inviting local residents to apply for a Producer-at-Large position on the Agricultural Service Board (ASB).
The County is seeking to appoint:
- Three (3) Producers-at-Large, and
- Two (2) Alternate Producers-at-Large.
The ASB is a Council-appointed committee that provides advice and recommendations on agricultural matters within the County. The Board plays a key role in shaping policies and programs that support farming, sustainability, and the prosperity of the local agricultural community.
What the Board Does
The Agricultural Service Board:
- Recommends policies and programs to support sustainable farming practices.
- Works to improve the economic welfare and prosperity of local and regional agriculture.
- Advises Council on agricultural service needs in the municipality.
- Lobbies the provincial government through the ASB Resolutions process.

Eligibility Requirements
To apply, you must:

Be 18 years of age or older.

Be a resident of Smoky Lake County and remain a resident for the duration of the term.

Have knowledge of current agricultural practices and trends that affect local producers (actively farming applicants are preferred).

Experience serving on a board or committee is considered an asset.
Membership Details

Council will appoint three (3) Producers-at-Large and two (2) Alternates.

Term length: four (4) years, aligned with the 2029 Municipal Election.

The Agricultural Service Board (ASB) meets three (3) times a year and producers are compensated for meeting and expenses incurred
How to Apply
Producers are encouraged to fill out an application form and submit it to the undersigned by 4:00 PM on October 20, 2025.
Applications forms can be picked up at the Smoky Lake County Administration Office or filled out and submitted online.
